pukies rule

You know, before Sam entered our lives, I had no earthly idea how much babies spit up. I couldn't understand for the life of me why newborns needed bibs and burp cloths if they weren't eating solid foods and making messes doing so. Boy was I wrong-o! Here, Sam demonstrates. What started out as a lovely video of his cute insect noises turned into something a little more, well, gross! (He's 1 month, 9 days old here.)

Needless to say, I have been on the hunt for quality bibs and burp cloths ever since this phase started. I had to run out immediately to supplement our measly collection and ended up hating almost every single one of them. The bibs were either too huge for our little guy, too curly on the edges, too covered in applique animals, too ugly, or too velcro-y, sticking to everything in their midst even with the ends fastened. And the burp cloths were sucky, too--too rough, too small, or too big. It wasn't until about a week ago when I received my Pukies package in the mail that I could breathe a sigh of relief. Thank you, Pukies. Not only do they have a sweet name, but they rule. Pukies graciously sent me a bib and burp cloth to review, and no lie, I'm hooked. They're wicked soft, don't curl in the wash, are gorgeously bright and fun, are reversible, and are made of soy & organic cotton. Best of all, the bibs snap instead of velcro together so they don't stick to poor Sam's hair or anything else in the wash. They also absorb messes beautifully. I'm a big fan and plan on picking up more of these pronto. You can, too, at the Pukies web site. A big hurrah to fellow mom Samantha for coming up with these products. SPLAT, Pukies just earned the mommy and Sam seal of approval. UPDATE 3.19.10: Great news! Pukies is offering a discount to The Tale of Baby Riser readers! Just enter BABYRISER20 to get 20% off your total purchase until the end of June.
